Yi Shan is a web developer, product designer, and musician. Currently, she is pursuing a master's degree in Music Technology at New York University. Before that, she was a technical product manager in China.

She began learning to play musical instruments at a very young age; She plays piano, classical guitar, and cello. She also has a great passion for arranging music.

She has a rich academic and professional background ranging from Physics to Materials Engineering, from Technical Product Manager of Open Source Deep Learning Platforms to a graduate student in Music Technology. She hopes to combine these experiences and do something meaningful for the world.

Now in the final year of her master's degree, her research interests include applying Music Information Retrieval (MIR) algorithms to music education products and using machine learning and deep learning approaches to better simulate the human ear in order to improve the performance of beat detection models.
